If you can afford millions of dollars and want to spend something exhilarating to drive (but stand out from the BMW Ms, Mercedes-AMGs, Audi RS cars, Porsche waters) yours ..
Shelby South Africa has confirmed the specifications and production volume of the 2021 Shelby Super Snake. This includes a dedicated Shelby Speedster that forms part of the modified Mustang lineup.
To commemorate the 98th anniversary of founder Carroll Shelby, the same number of Super Snakes will be produced worldwide, but the Shelby Speedster will be even more limited, with only 25 produced for the discerning Mustang enthusiast. ..
Unlimited power and performance
The 2021 Shelby Super Snake’s performance is still based on Ford’s latest generation Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, but thanks to the presence of a bespoke whipple supercharger, its appearance and output have changed significantly.
The Shelby Super Snake delivers 615kW with additional intake pressure from the supercharger and fine-tuning and other performance parts to deliver traditional power transfer to the rear wheels for pure driving thrills. To do. Under ideal conditions, the Super Snake accelerates from 0 to 100km / h in just 3.5 seconds.
To ensure the durability of the vehicle, the remaining modifications are said to be extensive and include a new cooling system consisting of a new radiator, an aluminum tank and a heat exchanger. Offering unlimited performance with amplified engine sound, it’s a complete Borla exhaust system just in time for Fast 9.
This car’s Shelby Truck Handling Package features new high-performance tires wrapped around 20-inch all-in-one forged aluminum wheels. Behind the scenes, a glimpse of the red calipers reveals the Shelby braking system with improved cooling, keeping the brakes at their best performance longer.
Bespoke wide body stance
The most notable changes to the Mustang’s exterior are the Shelby’s signature edition aluminum wide-body front fenders and steel bonnet. “The wide body allows us to use 305 wide tires in all rounds,” says Peter Lindenberg, owner of Shelby South Africa. “Shelby has advanced the aero package, adding veins to the more aggressive front bumpers and splitters,” adds Lindenberg.
Further examination of the Super Snake’s appearance reveals other functional details designed with aesthetics in mind. This includes a rear spoiler, tail panel, diffuser and quarter window with Shelby louvers. These are also dark tint. Optional Super Snake badges and stripes round the look.
“The most striking derivative of the 2021 Super Snake is the new Speedster,” explains Lindenberg. The Speedster Edition transforms the Mustang Convertible into a two-seater roadster with a hardtop tonneau system, with unique stripes and badges. The Speedster also comes with a Speedster Edition floor mat and door sill plate.
Not your average Mustang
The unique appearance of Super Snake is transmitted to the inside. Once inside, Shelby’s floor mats and door sills will welcome you, and new instrument clusters and meters will welcome you.
Carroll Shelby Mustang (CSM) numbering is a prominent feature in the dashboard and engine bay, and this unique number is recorded in the official Shelby registry. For more extreme interior options, a way to save weight is to remove the backseat and install the harness bar.
Both the Shelby Super Snake Coupe and the Shelby Speedster are now available for order in South Africa. You need to purchase the standard 2021 Mustang V8. Shelby South Africa will convert this into your bespoke car.
