235 lives lost on SA Road on Easter weekend-SABC News

More than 200 people died on South African roads Easter weekend.. About 200 car accidents were also recorded.

KwaZulu Natal has recorded the highest number of accidents and deaths.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula presented statistics at a media briefing at Grasmere Toll Plaza in southern Johannesburg.

According to the minister, 235 people were killed on South African roads in just four days.KwaZulu Natal recorded the most deaths with Houten Limpopo..

42 accidents and 54 deaths were recorded in KwaZulu-Natal, 36 in 30 accidents in Gauteng, and 27 and 34 deaths in Limpopo.

Together, the other six states recorded 90 crashes and 106 deaths.

South Africa was severely blocked last year, killing 28 people on the 2020 Easter weekend.
