A high-ranking delegation of the Republic of Mali has completed a day’s working visit to the country to involve His Excellency Julius Maada Bio on the country’s return to constitutional democracy and peace in West Africa.

His Excellency Abdulai Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who led the delegation, greeted President Bio from Colonel Assimi Goita, the interim president of Mali, saying they were his colleagues and brothers. They also shared the government’s experience on how to return Mali to constitutional rule and maintain peace.

“I seek the guidance and expertise of President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone as a special envoy from Colonel Assimi Goita, Mali’s interim president, to be the driving force for peace, security and stability in the subregion. He argued that they wanted to take advantage of their experience and expertise, and the role of President Julius Maada Bio in transferring Sierra Leone back to constitutional rule and power from the military to democratic civilian rule.
