Ahmed Kathrada Foundation delivers a memorandum to Union Buildings – SABC News

The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has urged governments to accelerate economic change for young people. The organization celebrated its 46th anniversary on June 16 by hosting a Youth Day parade for justice and change in Pretoria. The parade, which began at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, received the support of over 60 youth organizations from home and neighboring countries such as Namibia, among others. Participants have submitted claims to the presidency in the Union Buildings.

“We are very clear and determined that young people are ready to stand up for themselves. We came out in a large group to encourage change and ensure that we take from those who led the struggle and their spirit lives on. And that we, like more than 60 organizations, demand that the government take action because it is a government that is people at the center. says Irfaan Mangera, head of the agency’s youth programs.

Unemployment, gender equality, crime and climate justice are among the challenges that South African youth believe should be addressed in a friendly manner.
This was stated at the inauguration of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, with an emphasis on justice and change, as part of the Pretoria Youth Day Memorial.

“Young people need to be involved in the upper classes, where decisions that affect young people are made and corruption should be eliminated,” said Sekgoetlane Phamodi, responsible for research.

“The teenagers are not safe and can, through public cooperation and the Eyerus app, help make this a reality. says Sibusiso Mbhele at Eyerus App.

The moderator of the parade today, the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, justified the hosting of this event.
“We decided to hold this parade to emphasize the difficulties of youth unemployment and also advocating for social justice and climate rights, and we believe this is the best way to make our voices heard as young people, “said Delani Majola, a spokesman for the organization.

The young people who were part of the parade today encouraged the government to listen to their situation as well.
