ANC Gauteng state conference takes longer than expected – SABC News

It seems that the ANC’s regional conference in Gauteng could take longer than planned.

Voting is now underway at the Lakes Hotel in Benoni, east of Johannesburg, where delegates will decide who will be the new district leader.

The conference was plagued by delays in accepting IDs, as well court liability submitted for suspension the conference yesterday.

Mzi Khumalo, who is vying for the post of vice-president, says discussions are underway on how to proceed with the conference.

“The discussions have two suggestions; one is that we should go to a power of attorney tonight, (and) the other proposal says that we should not consider ourselves a malicious member, we should think of a special PGC and which PGC would carry out the work that was to be carried out today, “says Khumalo.
