ANC policy conference to tackle SA’s socio-economic problems: Mmamoloko Kubayi – SABC News

The executive director of the African National Congress (ANC), Mmamoloko Kubayi, says one of the main discussions at the party’s sixth congress. National language conference must address the country’s economic crisis

The trial will take place in Nascrec, Johannesburg, this weekend.

Party president Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the gathering later on Friday morning.

ANC representatives will discuss the party’s strategy ahead of its national conference in December, when the ANC leadership will be elected for the next five years.

Kubayi says the ANC’s policy document will hope to address social and economic challenges affecting South Africans.

“The conflict in Russia and Ukraine continues to have a negative impact on the world market. So it is not just SA that is struggling with the economic environment, fuel prices and inflation. Many central banks around the world have raised concerns and for us here in SA we are facing a huge unemployment problem, the cost of living is rising while wages are at the same level – it is becoming difficult for citizens to survive … We believe that representatives will take the issue around the mandate of the Central Bank, issues around unemployment and supporting the transformation of the financial sector.”
