Manager Mikel Arteta said on Saturday that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will be out for weeks with a hip injury during a midweek loss to Liverpool.
Ramsdale, who joined Arsenal in August for an initial fee of £24 million ($31.63 million), entered the starting lineup and started every Premier League match for the London club since benching Bernd Leno.
Ramsdale are also called up for a friendly match against Switzerland and Ivory Coast later this month. He made his England debut in a 10-0 win over San Marino in November.
“He had an injury, a muscle injury. He will be absent for a few weeks,” Arteta told BT Sport ahead of a league match against Aston Villa on Saturday.
However, the 23-year-old moved to Villa Park with the squad.
Arteta added that Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli will also miss the Villa game because he has been ill the past few days.
