JOHANNESBURG – Authorities are investigating the circumstances of a light aircraft crash on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West.
The plane dove to the ground on Wednesday.
One passenger was seriously injured while the other escaped with minor injuries.
Marie Bray, of the South African Civil Aviation Authority, said: “It was reported that two passengers were on board. Early information suggests the aircraft encountered an engine problem during flight and the pilot executed a forced landing on route R44 at Stellenbosch. The aircraft was substantially damaged.
