Candidate nomination process completed at ANC Limpopo conference – SABC News

The nomination process for candidates in the African National Congress has been completed (ANC) Limpopo Conference in Polokwane.

The outgoing Limpopo district chairman and prime minister, Stanley Mathabatha, has been nominated for a third term, against outgoing ANC PEC members and MEC Public Works Dickson Masemola.

The nomination of former district treasurer Danny Msiza could not be successful as he has stepped aside due to the party’s decision to step aside for members facing criminal charges.

Msiza faces fraud and corruption over the collapse of VBS Mutual Bank.

During the nomination, Paul Mashatile, treasurer of the ANC explained to the Chief Electoral Officer that Msiza was not present at the conference.

“Danny’s partner is not at the conference because he had to step aside so he will not be a candidate,” Mashatile said.
