Cape Club gets green light to move to Gauteng

Gauteng is expected to have a new club in the PSL’s GladAfrica Championship (now renamed the Motsepe Foundation Championship).

CAPE TOWN ALL THE STARS MOVE

According to this latest report, the club’s owner made the decision before PSL made a final call to approve the move from Cape Town to Johannesburg.

As the team is now leaving the mother city, a name change has also been decided. The club who finished third in GladAfrica last season before finishing the same spot in the PSL/Relegation Playoffs will now be known as the All Stars.

“Cape Town All Stars will now move to Johannesburg and start the newly branded Motsepe Foundation Championship (National First Division) as All Stars FC and under a new manager, Sinethemba Badela.” the SABC reported.

“According to information gathered from SABC sportChairman Lunga Ncwana has big plans for the team and is also said to have signed Morgan Mamilla, who has been at top club Chippa United for around two years.
