Hauten residents should prepare for the cold weather from Thursday afternoon.
According to the SA Weather Service, this is the result of a cold front currently in the Western Cape and moving inland.
In certain areas of KwaZulu-Natal and Houten, cold weather can continue throughout the weekend.
Forecaster Kumza Mashizana said: “Cold fronts are now providing wet and windy conditions in parts of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape. Temperatures are also significant within the central region, including Free State, Northwest, Mpumalanga, Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal. In Gauteng, it is expected to be sunny all day long and almost sunny. Temperatures will peak at about 12 degrees Celsius in Pretoria and Verenigging, and will drop from this afternoon when Johannesburg peaks at 9 degrees Celsius. Expected. “
