Cape Town-The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra paid tribute to South African healthcare professionals for their dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The musician attended an open-air concert at lunch hour in front of the main entrance of Groote Schuur Hospital.

The ensemble struck notes on a perfect pitch and paid tribute to healthcare professionals across the country for their tireless efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Louis Heineman, CEO and Artistic Director of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, elaborated on the importance of Wednesday’s outdoor performances.

“I would like to say to South African healthcare professionals. We thank them for their tremendous selfless work of seeing, listening, respecting, keeping people safe and helping people in hospitals. . “

The repertoire contained various music genres.

“We choose some bright music, some inspirational music like William Tell Overture, as well as serious ones like the very serious and solemn Elgar Clarification, From District 6 in Cape Town, something light and for everyone. “

There are 330,000 health care workers in the state, and 193 have died from COVID-19.
