The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) accused the defense that The Hillary Gardee Murder Trial which has no effect.
The Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga heard that the defense intended to bring in his father, former EFF secretary Godrich Gardee.
Advocate Philemon Lukhele and Albert Gama disclosed this during their plea for bail.
The two and another suspect, Sipho Mkhatshwa, were arrested after Hilary’s body was found in a tree in April.
Lukhel and Gama bail applications will resume on the 8th of next month.
EFF President Collen Sedibe said, “That is an insult to the father of the deceased. How do you do that?…with a license you will know that it is not an easy thing. You must submit yourself to the magistrate and the magistrate will approve. The person you are calling must agree or accept. But that was insulting and the lawyer was insensitive. “
Sedibe said that the act also threatens them. “That’s why he raises things that are not necessary for the court like threats. We are threatened and we know where to report this threat.”
