Dimension Data said Thursday that it acquired Acacia Cloud Solutions, a cloud implementation specialist that works closely with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This is the first deal announced by new Dimension Data CEO Werner Kapp, who recently replaced Grant Bodley in the hot seat of the IT services group. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
“This decision confirms Dimension Data’s commitment to invest in cloud services and solutions that meet the digital transformation and hybrid cloud requirements of organizations in the Middle East and Africa in an increasingly competitive operating landscape and digital, ”the group said in a statement.
Kapp said that Dimension Data’s acquisition of Acacia Cloud Solutions and its global relationship with parent company, Japan’s NTT, “enhances” its ability to “localize the delivery of managed services in the cloud, significantly expanding our offering. of managed hybrid infrastructure services ”.
Acacia CEO Carl Snyman and CTO George Rushby said in a statement that the acquisition of Dimension Data will enable their company to “create a large-scale AWS practice that can keep pace with market demand for cloud adoption ”.
