World tennis champion Novak Djokovic claimed his 60th victory at the Italian Open on Tuesday, May 10 with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Aslan Karatsev.
“He probably has the biggest calf that we have in tennis. Very strong guy, just solid from the baseline.”
“You never know with him. When he feels the ball he can become very dangerous because he stays so close to the line and puts pressure on his opponents.” Djokovic said about the 35th Karatsev.
While Karatsev made mistakes that cost him a win, Djokovic took advantage of those mistakes.
“But he missed a lot of points today, gave me a few breaks there in the first and second. I will definitely take this win with me. It’s a clear victory against a top-class opponent and I’m looking forward to the next challenge.”
