JOHANNESBURG — The lawyer representing Operation Dudula chief Nhlanhla “Lux” Mohlaoli says his client is working with the police minister to engage similar anti-migrant groups.

Ike Khumalo was speaking outside Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court, where Mohlaoli was released on R1,500 bail following his arrest last week.

Khumalo was asked to explain why he objected to the bail condition that Mohlaoli should be confined to Gauteng.

“He has a program with the police that travels all over the country and teaches other formations like Operation Dudula how to do things within the bounds of the law.”

The police department was unable to confirm or deny these allegations.

Mohlaoli accused South African police officers of blindly following instructions, but in the same breath told his supporters to work with the South African Police Service.

“We are going to find a way to free the police and then we take this country because this time is coming. We will make the police become the police again.
