CAPE TOWN – Eskom has had to suspend services to a Dutywa community in the Eastern Cape.

A team of workers were threatened and their vehicle vandalized by protesting residents earlier this week.

They were trying to repair a damaged power line, when the crowd confronted them and demanded that they deal with illegal power connections in another area.

The utility has now withdrawn its services there until tensions ease.
