CAPE TOWN — The family of former Springbok Breyton Paulse is in shock after the tragic deaths of two loved ones.
Paulse’s mother and aunt drowned, after being washed off the wall of the Old Port, in Hermanus on Sunday afternoon.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) responded to emergency calls after the two women were swept out to sea.
NSRI spokesman Craig Lambinon said the two adult females were located and picked up on the NSRI lifeboat.
“CPR (cardiorespiratory resuscitation) was started. They were taken to the NSRI aid station where CPR was continued by paramedics unfortunately after all effects to resuscitate both women had been exhausted they were pronounced dead by the ambulances”.
The police opened an investigation file for investigation.
