Family calls for justice for Namhla Mtwa killed in shooting – SABC News

Colleagues and family of OR Tambo District Municipality employee Namhla Mtwa, who was shot dead in Mthatha’s driveway last week, are struggling to accept the murder.

Mtwa, who worked for the city’s budget treasury, was shot by an assassin on his way home from work last Thursday.

The Mtwa family wants justice for their daughter.

Family spokeswoman Thembakazi Mtwa said: The man wanted to make sure she was dead, and I cried outside her, called her people, called her people because I saw this man killing her.”

“I want justice to be done here in South Africa. Many children, especially women, were killed. I don’t understand how you can kill, how you can shoot a helpless woman with a gun. I don’t know, I really don’t understand. So I’m asking for a justice system to be enforced in this country,” Mtwa added.

Her sister Sanga Nozintaba says Namhla feared her life.

“I don’t want her to rest, I want her to fight, I want the person who took her life, I want her to fight this alone,” Nojintava said. It hurts so much but I want her to fight. That’s all I can say and I hope her mistress will help her find her justice for her.”

Eastern Cape Police spokeswoman Tembinkosh Kinana said an investigation into the brutal murder is ongoing.

“Information indicates that when a 35-year-old woman arrived home, she was attacked by an unknown suspect and fired several shots, and the woman died at the scene. said.

Haven’t been arrested yet.
