Kiza made these remarks on Friday, January 14, 2022, while receiving a service award from the Deputy Secretary to Congress, Henry Weiswa.
Mr. Kiza said he was honored to be recognized by the institution he worked for for 15 years and said, “I am humbled that the activities and activities of the opposition people have been recognized.”
The former LOP said parliamentary agencies helped promote good governance by providing offices for opposition leaders and supporting their activities. She added that all efforts directed at providing the platform to the opposition are a sign of the country’s democratic growth.
Kiza thanked the parliamentary secretary and all staff for their dedication to her while serving as leader of the opposition. “I enjoyed working with everyone and I continue to cherish the moments I had while I was serving the facility and the whole country,” she added.
Weiswa said the award was a sign of Congress’s appreciation to Kiza for her extraordinary service.
Kiiza was a Female MP in the Cassette District under the FDC Party from 2006 to 2021. In 2016, she was appointed leader of the first female opposition party in Uganda.
It will be distributed by the APO Group on behalf of the Ugandan Parliament.
