Former traffic officer in Austur-Kópavogur gets life imprisonment for murder – SABC News

Former Traffic Officer Fanele Nxuseka 38 has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend Ncomeka Tenyane by the Eastern Cape Supreme Court in Port St Johns.

Nxuseka, who is married, murdered his girlfriend after he discovered that she was living with HIV in May 2020.

He abducted Tenyane from her home, near Lusikisiki, before shooting her several times before dumping her body.

Luxulo Tyali, a spokesman for the region’s state prosecutor, said they were happy with the verdict.

The court also sentenced Nxuseka to 12 years in prison for kidnapping. He is said to have used his service pistol to shoot and kill his girlfriend after discovering she was on antiretroviral (ARV) drugs.

The court agreed with the NPA that the fact that he was a police officer made him demand the harshest sentence, which is life imprisonment.
