Ithuba provides R10 million for KZN flood victims – SABC News

The national Lottery official, Ithuba, said it had received R10 million for the relief effort KwaZulu-Natal flood related.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Nomalungelo Gina, and the Chairperson of Ithuba, Charmaine Mabuza, also addressed the gathering. Ninety families live in one church in Molweni Outside Pinetown, west Durban.
“According to Ithuba, we have disbursed R10 million in aid, which we are going to as a country where their needs are being distributed like blankets (and) food. I understand very well how skeptical about corruption goes, but in this case, the money is being handled directly by ourselves. We are the ones who use our staff to buy things, make sure that because we do not want to go to the third party. We want to make sure the community benefits from the fundraising, ”Mabuza said.
Ithuba said he hoped the grant would meet basic needs immediately.
