Digital transformation is on the rise, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Interdependence between the physical, digital and cybersecurity realms. This, along with an expanding attack surface, requires a new type of security leader.

Today’s CISOs require deep technical knowledge and experience as well as the ability to pinpoint security priorities from a business perspective. A wide range of new threats impacting the hybrid workforce and a growing number of security-needed external devices have driven the evolution of the CISO role.

In particular, while security leaders were once more viewed as security risk managers, today CISOs are expected to become de facto business enablers within organizations.

To discuss what is expected of today’s CISOs: Albert Irench DanquaStanbic Bank Ghana’s CISO will present “The Evolving Role of the CISO and Relationship with the Board”. ITWeb Security Summit 2022It will be held from 31 May to 2 June at the Sandton Convention Center.

He will explain what the CISO’s role is, as well as the key skills and qualities a CISO should have. Danquah will also investigate the reporting structure. Whether the CISO should report to the CIO or CEO, and whether the CISO should be on the board.

He will also talk about the knowledge and experience that at least some board members should have in order to better understand the cyber risks facing organizations.
