CAPE TOWN — The case against former President Jacob Zuma and French arms maker Thales has faced further delays.

The arms deal case was briefly heard in Pietermaritzburg High Court on Monday and adjourned until October 17 pending the outcome of Zuma’s leave to appeal to the Constitutional Court.

Judge Piet Koen said that if the trial was not ready to start in October, a new trial date would then be determined.

Zuma faces corruption, fraud, money laundering and racketeering charges.
