Johannesburg City warns of power outages after a substation fire

The city of Johannesburg states that a fire at the Robertsham substation has caused power outages in parts of the city.

A power outage occurred around 20:30 on Monday.

According to the city, the affected areas included Aeroton, Evanspark, Hill, Ormond, Robert Siam and its surroundings.

“The paramedics and fire team were called in to put out the fire,” he said in a statement.

The City Power team will wait to respond to the outage even after the emergency service is over.

The city added that the estimated time for restoration is not yet available.
