Kaizer Chiefs suffer TRIPLE injuries ahead of Royal clash!

Kaizer Chiefs kick off their 2022/23 DStv Premiership season against Royal AM on Saturday night at Chatsworth Stadium.

Arthur Zwane’s side will be without three key players in their season opener against the Spice People.

Zwane confirmed that Sifiso Hlanti, Sibusiso Mabiliso and Phathutshedzo Nange were all left out of clash for the Amakhosi!

Veteran Kaizer Chiefs defender Sifiso Hlanti is unlikely to play for the Glamor Boys anytime soon, according to Arthur Zwane.

Although the Bafana Bafana defender has returned to full physical fitness, he is still suffering from the mental effects of his devastating injury.

Hlanti, 32 years old, tore his Achilles tendon while training almost 10 months ago.

And although he has returned to training and is doing well physically, Arthur Zwane is still deeply concerned about his emotional recovery.

“Unfortunately we only have Austin Dube on the left and we’re also thinking of Hlanti that he can play there,” said the Kaizer Chiefs coach SoccerLaduma.

“But looking at Hlanti right now, I don’t see him being available any time soon.

“Yes he’s training with the boys but you can see he’s still a bit scared.

“He withdraws from tackles sometimes, so we try to manage him.

“We don’t want to rush him and then Kaizer Chiefs will hurt him even more, so we will try to manage him.

“With that gradually but with the hope that he will return to his full fitness where we can give him the confidence that he has in himself.”
