KW Automotive has acquired the vibration damping technology business of AL-KO Vehicle Technology.
The unit has 250 workers in two plants in Spain and China, and manufactures shock absorbers for commercial vehicles.
KW is based in Germany.
Harald Hiller, President and CEO, said:
The distributor will focus on developing and manufacturing chassis and suspension components for its core businesses of trailers, motorhomes, light commercial vehicles, and “new mobility solutions.”
KW specializes in suspension products for road and motorsports, has established new plants in Europe and China, and has acquired expertise in commercial vehicles.
AL-KO last month acquired alloy wheel manufacturer BBS, added 260 workers, and in January acquired off-road racing damper manufacturer Reiger Suspension.
