KZN Police Arrest Suspected Killer – SABC News

KwaZulu-Natal Police have arrested a suspected killer at Mariannhill Toll Plaza.

Police say the suspect was on a bus bound for the Western Cape. The suspect is believed to be wanted for murder and attempted murder, among other charges.

Police spokesman Thenjiswa Ngcobo: “The cases were committed in Inanda, KwaMashu, Mayville and other areas. A roadblock was set up at Mariannhill Toll Plaza along with other law enforcement agencies. The suspect was on a bus bound for the Western Cape. The bus was intercepted and the 31-year-old arrested. He was found in possession of a rifle with 90 rounds of ammunition hidden in his luggage bag.”

Copper theft suspect appearing in court

A suspect is expected to appear in Pinetown Magistrate’s Court for possession of stolen property. The suspect was arrested in Queensburgh after R2,000 worth of copper fittings and pipes were found on him.

Ngcobo says: “The following day, a police officer was with the suspect to conduct further investigations when the suspect attacked him. The suspect tried to escape from the community center and ran into the street. He was arrested and also charged with escaping lawful detention. He will appear in Pinetown Magistrates Court today.”
