Man arrested for suspected kidnapping and murder in Mpumalanga

  • A man from mpumalanga is charged with murdering two people.

A man was arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of house robbery suspects in KaNyamazane, Mpumalanga, on Wednesday.

The robbers are suspected of stealing household items worth about 11,000 R, including a 40-inch Hisense TV, three cell phones, clothes and a USB drive.

Police spokesman Brigadier General Selvy Mohlala said four people were suspected behind the robbery, abducted and severely abused. Two of them were found dead on Saturday in Pienaar, one man was still missing and the fourth wounded escaped.

“The case has been brought to the attention of the Pienara police, where the investigation has arrested him [man]. Police continue to prosecute the suspects behind it, and the investigation into the missing person continues, ”Mohlala said.

The man is expected to go to court for a two-way murder. Mohlala said further charges are expected.

Mpumalanga community security, safety and liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe said vigilance is not only barbaric but also contrary to the values ​​of the constitution.

Shongwe added:

Our criminal justice system can deal with crime. This includes the arrest, investigation and prosecution of perpetrators and perpetrators of crime. Therefore, communities should cooperate with the police in reporting suspicious activities or individuals. They should make optimal use of legitimate structures such as CPFs (community police forums) to provide useful tips.

He added: no one has the right to take the law into their own hands.
