A plane dedicated to Argentine giants Diego Maradona was unveiled on Wednesday for a trip that ends at the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Tango D10S – a 12-seater funded by an Argentine fintech company – is designed as an aviation museum in honor of the former World Cup champion, who died of a heart attack in November 2020.

It shows a picture of Maradona kissing the World Cup on the body, but his face is also on the trunk.

The wings have been shown solely to give a sense of proportion.

“I’m angry with Maradona, one of those people who still watches videos of Diego before I go to bed at night,” Gaston Kolker, CEO of fintech company Give and Get, told Reuters.

“This is the first World Cup without Maradona and maybe the last with (Lionel) Messi. I said, I want to make a Diego plane, I want to make a Diego plane. And then we launched the Tango D10S.

“When Maradona’s teammates saw it, the winners of the 1986 World Cup, they were amazed, they were mesmerized by the plane,” Kolker said at the unveiling with other members of the World Cup winner.

The plan is to fly the plane around Argentina and finally to Qatar at the World Cup in November.

Fans will be able to board the plane and leave a message for Maradona in the cockpit, “communicate” with the late player with artificial intelligence and see memories from him and other players from the 1986 team.

It will also be available for private rental before it is offered for charity.

“We can not believe or understand this nonsense, the love that comes with it,” said Dalma, Maradona’s daughter. “How far will fans go? As far as a plane. “
