We are grateful for all the messages of support that have come from people from all walks of life. Most importantly, we want to thank everyone who responded to our call for all South Africans to pray for him and his family, ”the statement read.
Messages of support, the statement added, came from various personalities, from current and former South African presidents Cyril Ramaphosa and Jacob Zuma, football administrators Dr Irvin Khoza and Kaizer Motaung, to famous artist DJ Black Coffee.
“As the family of Max’s Lifestyle Village, we would once again like to thank all South Africans and the global community for the outpouring of love and support after the owner and founder of our world-class establishment, Mr. Max Mqadi, was shot dead by unknown gunmen last week. The unfortunate incident occurred as he was leaving our world-famous restaurant on Thursday, “the statement continued.
The statement ended by assuring customers and the media that Mqadi was in good spirits as he recovered surrounded by his family.
“However, we do wish to ask that we all give him space as he continues to reflect and count his blessings while enjoying this invaluable gift of life. When the time comes, he will have public engagements, including with the media that have been so understanding during that time. ”
