Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula, along with the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) board, will brief the media on the progress made on Thursday morning the cancellation of some tenders from SANRAL worth over R17 billion.
In May, the SANRAL board announced that the tenders had been canceled due to non-compliance with a board decision and errors found in the procurement process.
The Board also pointed out that the canceled tenders would be re-tendered and another public body would be entrusted with conducting the tendering process.
Actions taken to ensure the process is completed within projected timelines will also be disclosed.
