Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu will open Africa’s Travel Indaba in Durban on Tuesday. It is the largest tourism fair on the continent.
It is the first time the event has been held in person since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic more than two years ago.
Around 4000 delegates are expected. The Indaba is expected to generate around R72.5 million in revenue for the city’s economy.
Among other things, this year’s indaba will focus on the recovery from the pandemic, opportunities for combining business and leisure tourism, and improving intra-African travel and tourism.
