Mupmaranga police are investigating the kidnapping of two Pakistanis after being trafficked to the county via Malawi and Mozambique.
One of the victims was rescued by police from a house in Mubonbella. The second, on the other hand, was released by the suspect after the family paid the ransom.
Selvy Mohlala, a spokesperson for the Mpumalanga police, said the alleged kidnapper was able to avoid being arrested after a high-speed pursuit with police.
His car was found parked in the underground parking lot of iLanga Mall.
“There are still many traffickers, but his identity is known to the police as a businessman in the Schoemansdal area. A safe home where the victims were housed was identified and by one of the victims. An undocumented Pakistani citizen identified as a safe housekeeper was arrested.
