Emotions were running high at the Eastern Cape High Court in East London as Nosicelo Mtebeni’s father Kholisile dismissed the apology from Aluta Pasile.
Nosicelo’s father collapsed in court as he responded to Pasile’s apology. Pasile pleaded guilty to killing Nosicelo in August this year.
He is also accused of attempts to defeat the course of justice. Nosicelo’s dismembered body was found in a suitcase on the corner of Fleet Street in East London.
In a letter read by his lawyer, Aluta said he felt ashamed for what he had done and regretted his actions.
He said he was possessed by evil spirits.
Aluta apologized, saying he is unable to sleep at night as he sees the horrible act he did every time he closes his eyes.
Nosicelo’s father cried uncontrollably after reading the letter where he expressed his regret and asked forgiveness not only from the Mtebeni family but also his own, the religious fraternity as well as South Africa in general.
The court gave Mtebeni’s father the opportunity to respond to Nosicelo’s killer.
Nosicelo Mtebeni’s father, Kholisile, rejects the apologies of his killer Aluta Pasile:
The the case against Pasile was postponed until Thursday for a pre-sentence report to the High Court in East London.
Video evidence of Pasile at the hardware store where he bought tools used to dismember Mtebeni’s body have emerged, as well as that of his confession to his murder.
Pasile has for the first time, through his lawyer Ncumisa Dyantyi, given details of what had happened between him and the deceased before her untimely death.
