Murder accused’s sister testifies at trial in Tazne van Wyk – SABC News

The sister of a man accused of raping and murdering 8-year-old Tazne van Wyk has been asked by the state to testify at his trial.

A little girl from Elsies River disappeared from her parents’ house two years ago. Her body was found a few days later, dumped in a rain gutter in Borland.

Moyhdian Pangkaeker faces 27 charges, including the rape and murder of Van Wyk.

The defendant’s sister, Nazli Pankecker, said she called Van Wick shortly after van Wick went missing in February 2020.

She says he told her the child was not with him. But Nazli says she doesn’t want to tell her where she is. No matter how many times I ask her whereabouts during the phone call.

The state claims that Moyhdian kidnapped Van Wyk and took her to Worcester, where she raped and murdered her.

The father of the eight-year-old on Wednesday said the accused believes he was the last person with his daughter before she died.

Terence Manuel said the last time he saw his daughter alive was when he left home to go to the store near their place of stay on the Elsis River.

He said he believed she was hanging out with friends after going to the store.

Manuel said that when Van Wyk returned home, he began to panic when he didn’t come home with other children in the area.
