Presented with the Annual Report as well as the Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2021, as well as the 2021 International Reserve Management Report.

The meeting with the Governor was an opportunity for President Ramkalawan to express his appreciation and appreciation to the CBS team for their hard work and commitment through one of the toughest global financial crises.

“On behalf of the people of Seychelles, I would like to commend you as Governor and your team for your incredible management and dedication to staying on track despite difficult decisions. Together as a team, the Central Bank has pointed us in the right direction. So today we thank you for your hard work,” said President Ramkalawan.

The president described CBS as one of the strongest institutions in the country, which has set an example in carrying out its mandate.

The report presented articulates what has happened in the domestic economy as well as how external events affect the domestic economy.

How world events could significantly affect the Seychelles was part of the discussion between the President and the Governor, to see where the Government could further enhance the country’s resilience in the face of international events. There, they discussed how recent events especially the Ukraine-Russia crisis affected the world economic landscape and recalled that the Seychelles depend on the world for trade. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss how this affected the Seychelles primarily through high commodity prices and movement of goods.
