Religious groups are conducting the event first Easter was the state of National Disaster.

In Kimberley, in the Northern Cape, congregations have traveled to various churches in the city to attend church services on Friday.

The Progressive Bible Church decided to carry out its Easter message outside. The church members fled to a public park to worship.

Reverend Samuel Jonas said keeping their work outside was part of complying with COVID-19 standards.

“So now we are outside, we are following. We have a public distraction here. We thank Jehovah. We are not against anything. We are cooperative,” Jonas said.

Reverend Thabo Lang of the African Evangelist United Church said he was pleased that they could come together to celebrate this day.

“We are very happy that the government has opened all the doors. So, we can celebrate the day when all people come together to praise and worship Jehovah, ”said Lang.

Congregations greatly appreciate returning to church among fellow worshipers.

At present, the church still adheres to the COVID-19 rules.
