South Africa has registered 1,868 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed laboratory infections to 3,690,291. This increase represents a 6.5% positivity.
Due to the ongoing review by the Directorate of Health (NDoH), COVID-19 deaths may be reported. Today, the NDoH reports 25 deaths, 10 of which occurred in the last 24 to 48 hours. This brings the total accident figures to 99,681.
Latest SA statistics:
According to the NICD, the majority of new cases today are from Gauteng (34%), followed by the Western Cape (24%). Kwa-Zulu Natal has 16%; Limpopo and North West were 6% each; Mpumalanga is 5%; Free State took 4%; The Eastern Cape had 3% and the Northern Cape had 1% of new cases today.
