Southern African Development Community (SADC) will be on the 7thth In January 2022, we will hold a virtual extraordinary summit of heads of state and government to review the progress and mission of the SADC Mission (SAMIM) in Mozambique.

SAMIM was deployed in July 2021 with the approval of the extraordinary SADC Summit held in Maputo, Mozambique on June 23, 2021. This is a district of Cabo del Gado as a SADC regional response to help Mozambique fight terrorism and violent extremism.

His Excellency Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, will chair the Extraordinary Summit as Chair of the SADC.

In addition, South Africa’s President and Chairman of the SADC Organ on Political, Defense and Security Cooperation, Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, today said a temporary SADC consisting of heads of state and government leaders from members of the Organ Troika. We held the Organ Troika Summit. That is; in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa, the Republic of Mozambique is participating.

The summit will discuss, among the key issues, supporting the effective operation of the SAMIM Goals to bring peace and stability to Cabo del Gado in the Republic of Mozambique.

In accordance with the SADC Convention, the SADC Summit will be responsible for managing the overall policy direction and function of the community and will ultimately become the policy-making body of SADC.

It will be distributed by the APO Group on behalf of the Republic of Mauritius.
