Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said seeing former President Jacob Zuma go to jail was a painful thing to watch and he could never wish for his worst enemies.
Zuma is currently serving a 15-month prison sentence for contempt after defying a Constitutional Court order to appear before the state Capture Commission.
Malema was speaking to SABC News on the eve of his party’s 8th anniversary. Malema says that since he disagreed with Zuma and even campaigned for his recall, his arrest is still painful to think about.
In conversation with EFF leader Julius Malema – Part 1:
Malema revealed that the meeting between him and Zuma earlier this year in Nkandla had become so heated that members of the Zuma family had to intervene. He said he went to Zuma to convince him to respect the constitutional order to appear before the State Capture Commission.
