Shooting in Delft leaves two dead and two injured

Police said the victims, aged 19 and 23, died after unknown suspects opened fire on them at Stellenbosch Arterial in the Freedom Farm area on Sunday.

CAPE TOWN – Two men have been shot dead in a shootout in Delft.

Police said the victims, aged 19 and 23, died after unknown suspects opened fire on them at Stellenbosch Arterial in the Freedom Farm area on Sunday.

Two other people were injured in the incident.

SAPS spokesman Colonel Andrè Traut said detectives were investigating the murder.

“Yesterday afternoon at around 4.50pm, two men aged 19 and 23 were shot and killed while two other men, aged 16 and 28, were injured. Unknown suspects opened fire on them at Stellenbosch Arterial at Freedom Farm, Delft. The circumstances are being investigated and arrests have not yet been made.”
