Siemens UK has launched an automated car rental program for its staff through Enterprise. The scheme gives more than 15,000 employees access to more than 1,400 street cars at 200 locations across the UK, as well as individual auto club cars already on site at Siemens offices across the country.
It is expected that the on-site program will reduce the number of vehicles that Siemens UK operates in its fleet.
Employees use the Siemens Credit Card to book travel through the Enterprise Car Club app, which tracks all travel through the company’s travel management system.
Wayne Worberton, Head of Mobility Services at Siemens UK, said: “The possibility of expanding car club access throughout the organization, in parallel with a dedicated car program, makes sense because of the Enterprise’s very regional network.
“They are the only car rental company that can successfully implement an initiative of this magnitude and help us manage the pressure to buy new cars. “Because so many Enterprise cars are on the street with low emissions and zero emissions, the program achieves our sustainability goals so as not to affect business-critical trips that employees have to make in places such as wind farms.
