The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) rejected Dedani Mkhize’s allegations of prejudice and lack of impartiality after the Minister of Health’s son shared a statement to this effect on his Facebook page.

His father, Minister Zweli Mkhize, was put on a special vacation by President Cyril Ramaphosa after SIU investigated the bid of R1150 million given to the company.
Mkhize claims to have approached SIU’s offer to cooperate with the investigation process, but the unit has not contacted him for an interview.
He said through the media that court documents had been filed on the matter and neither he nor his lawyer had appeared.
SIU spokesman Kaizer Kganyago said Dedani Mkhize will be offered another opportunity to submit a response in court.
