JOHANNESBURG – Eskom has decided to implement phase 2 load shedding from 4pm to midnight.
The electric utility cited a shortage of generation capacity due to an outage at several power plants.
“Outages of one generating unit each at Majuba, Tutuka and two at Kriel power plants have strained the power generation system,” Eskom said on Wednesday.
He added that the delay in returning two more units to Arnot as well as one unit each to Kusile and Hendrina power stations has aggravated power generation constraints.
Due to a lack of generation capacity, phase 2 load shedding may be required in the short term
