Stay focused, don’t be distracted by internal party squabbling, ANC President Ramaphosa to Mpumalanga delegates – SABC News

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged delegates gathered in eMalahleni to stay “focused” and not to be distracted by the party’s internal squabbles.

He says the 13th Mpumalanga Provincial Conference, held this weekend, must be a start to ensure the ANC continues to grow at the industry level.

Ramaphosa says the issues of power and access to resources will have adverse repercussions for the ANC if left unaddressed. He told delegates gathered at Witbank Dam that the ANC needed to return to its founding principles of serving the marginalized in society.

Closing remarks by ANC President Ramaphosa at the Mpumalanga Conference:

Ramaphosa also congratulated the newly elected leadership of the ANC in Mpumalanga. He says it is a good trend set by the province that an ANC conference can be peaceful and fruitful in the name of party unity and renewal.

Mandla Ndlovu is the new Chair, with his deputy Speedy Mashilo and Vusi Chirwa as secretaries and Lindiwe NtshaliNtshali as deputies. Mandla Msibi, charged with murder, is the new treasurer of the ANC in Mpumalanga.

Support for Ramaphosa’s second term as ANC President

Ndlovu has reiterated the province’s support for incumbent Ramaphosa for a second term.

He addressed more than 700 delegates from across Mpumalanga at Witbank Dam in eMalahleni. Ndlovu says it is important for an ANC leader to heed calls from branches if he has to serve in any position within the movement.

It is the second time Ramaphosa has been confirmed by Mpumalanga Province for a second term as ANC President.

Ndlovu says it’s not uncommon for the province to want Ramaphosa to take over and run the ANC for another five years.
