Stellenbosch University is committed to supporting the victims of the alleged racism with equipment and advice.
This will be done to ensure that the incident does not affect 19-year-old Babalo Ndwayana.
Ndwayana has filed charges of burglary, crime and damage to property at the local police station against a fellow student, Theuns du Toit.
Du Toit, who is white, was reportedly landed on a cell phone camera as he urinated on Ndwayana’s laptop and books on Sunday.
Wim de Villiers, Rector and Vice-Chancellor of Stellenbosch University, says the institute exemplifies Du Toit’s conduct.
“Stellenbosch University strongly condemns any disruptive or disruptive behavior that violates the rights of any student or member of the university’s community. Human dignity is indisputable and should be respected, upheld and respected when honored. “
De Villiers has branded Du Toit’s behavior as racist and hurtful.
“I personally also strongly condemn the disturbing, hurtful and racist incident that was captured on a mobile phone video at the Huis Marais residence on the Stellenbosch campus early on Sunday morning.
Du Toit has been fired while an investigation is pending.
