The South African Music Awards partners with TikTok

The South African Music Awards have partnered with international entertainment platform TikTok.

This one-of-a-kind partnership/experience will consist of activations and promotions. Further announcements will be made soon.

As part of this partnership, the music awards show in South Africa has also launched its account on TikTok.

This came as a prelude to the announcement of the nominees for Sama28’s public-voted categories of Record of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Artist of the Year, which took place June 3. The other nominees from the categories judged will be revealed at an exclusive, invitation-only brunch in Johannesburg on June 7.

Yuvir Pillay, COO of TikTok Africa Music, said, “Our platform has become a music discovery channel and launch pad for various artists in South Africa as well as around the world. We are therefore honored to be part of a prestigious event, like the Sama, which celebrates the art of music, artists and producers. We are happy to be able to bring this celebration to our TikTok community. »
