The chairman of the National Initiation Oversight Committee (NIOC), iKosi Vimbi Mahlangu, warned that those who kidnap boys and take them to inauguration schools will face legal action.
This comes after several parents in Emalahleni, Kriel and Middelburg in Mpumalanga were worried that their abducted children had been found in one of the illegal inauguration school.
Mahlangu further added that if parents find out that their children have been taken to the mountains without their consent, they must start a case with the police and also notify the Provincial Initiation Coordination (PICC).
Mahlangu says: “The law will play its role towards those who damage iNgoma’s reputation. If parents find out that this is happening, they must report missing or abducted children to the police. A committee from the Provincial Initiation Coordination Committee (PICC) will then be tasked with investigating, after which it will call the police, who will be arrested by the authorities. “
