Tiemoue Bakayoko: AC Milan player stopped by Italian police in ‘misunderstanding’

AC Milan confirmed to CNN that it is Bakayoko in the video, but will not officially comment on the matter.
In a statement to CNN, the Milan Police Press Office said: “Referring to the video released today, related to a police check carried out on Milan player Tiémoué Bakayoko, we stress that the check – took place during an operation whose context justified the adoption of the highest security measures, also for the purpose of self-protection – was carried out in a way that was absolutely in line with the danger situation.
“Once the person was identified and his independence of the facts had been clarified, the police resumed tasks regularly without any complaint on behalf of the person involved.”
Police added: “It was a misunderstanding, but colleagues behaved correctly.”
CNN has contacted Bakayoko for a comment.
The midfielder is currently under contract with Chelsea, but joined the Italian club last season on a two-year deal. He made 14 appearances in Serie A last season, helping Milan win its first league title in 11 years.
